COVID-19 Update – November 2020

As you are aware, our operations were somewhat affected by the newly released COVID-19 restrictions released by the Governor on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Please note: the courts and judicial operations are not closed. However, our firm and its operations fell within the definition of “professional services” which is required to make a few changes in order to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in our community and across the state. As such, our office has shifted to an emergency staffing plan with the majority of our staff working remotely from home. We learned a lot from our first lockdown this past Spring and believe these new restrictions will have minimal effect, if any, on your case as we have worked to streamline the work-from-home process of our staff. However, we do ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this remote staffing structure. We are continuing to offer telephonic and video consultations. As far as we know, the courts are maintaining their own video-based hearing model that has been in place since the Spring. If you have questions regarding your case, please continue e-mailing, calling, and voice mailing your legal assistant and/or attorney. We do ask you refrain from coming into our office unless specifically requested to do so by your attorney and/or legal assistant. We are doing our part to make it through these trying times together, yet safely apart. Stay safe out

Perlman participates in First Online Thurston County Superior Court Family Law Trial

It is hard to believe how many changes there have been over the past few months as we navigate a pandemic. One of the biggest changes (aside from working remotely, face coverings, social distancing, Zoom meetings, etc.) has been how the pandemic has changed how we interact with our clients and the court. Most recently, Amy Perlman had the honor of participating in the first Thurston County Superior Court Family Law Trial conducted via video conferencing. While we continue to adjust to the changes COVID-19 has brought to our world, a trial via video conference, from our own conference room, definitely tops the list of changes at
